SWIFT ASL is a free app developed by a dad. This app allows Deaf kids to type in a word and then record a video of themselves signing the word. The students can then use the app as a dictionary to look up words, or as a flashcard app to practice memorizing words. The application is only available on Android. It is not in the play store yet, but can be installed as a third party application on an android phone, if you enable third party apps.

We are working to get the application added to the Play Store in the near future. If you are interested in being a tester once it is available on the Play store, please email me at curt@fullerfamily.ws.

The application is a stand alone app. No student data is shared with me or sent off of the device except for that there is the ability to export your data, or email a progress report.

Companion Website for Teachers & Parents

This website is a companion to the application. Teachers or parents can create lists of words they want kids to add to their dictionary. It also allows for the creation of a priority list (which will mean the words show up more often when doing flashcards practice). It also allows you to upload the progress reports the app generates to create charts and watch how your students are progressing on learning their words.
